Repertoire

Music is drawn from a wide repertoire including major classical symphonies, such as:

• Tchaikovsky 6 • Schumann 3 • Bruckner 1 • Brahms 4 • Beethoven 3 • Balakirev 1

We have played several pieces of specially commissioned music, such as:

• Roy Sinclair: Intrada (March 1987, BP competition winner) • Gordon MacPherson: Bull Bugles (December 1987, 2nd prize-winner) • Allardyce Mallon: Soliloquy (March 1989, BP competition winner) • Carol Gould: Symphonic Poem ( March 1991, 2nd prize-winner) • Calum Kenmuir: Symphonic Blue • John Maxwell Geddes: The Hill House - a Celebration

We also play pieces by modern/living Scottish composers, such as:

• Mike Norris: Thyme (performed March 2008) • Brendan Musk: Aeroks Hlough (December 2006) • Tommy Fowler: Good Wine and Sweet (March 2006) • J M Geddes: Dances at Threave (March 1997) • Iain Hamilton: Scottish Dances (December 1992) • John Purser: Stone of Destiny (December 1991).
